Rotary E-Club of Tokyo Peace Wing

This club’s members consist mainly of Rotary Peace Fellows graduated from International Christian University’s course residing both in Japan and overseas, Japanese Rotary Peace Fellows studied overseas, and general public who are willing to make contributions to the good cause of society.

 This club pays respect to such areas of diversity as nationality, ethnicity, and religion and aims to put into practice the ideas of “peace and conflict avoidance/resolution.”

1.    Strengthen peace-related activities in members’ local communities

2.    Provide leaders in with training on conflict resolution and reconciliation in members’ local communities

3.    Support building of lasting peace in areas affected by conflict

4.    Extend helping hand to people who are likely to suffer ill effects from conflict, especially children and youths

5.    Support study of peace and conflict resolution

 This club’s members consist mainly of Rotary Peace Fellows graduated from International Christian University’s course residing both in Japan and overseas, Japanese Rotary Peace Fellows studied overseas, and general public who are willing to make contributions to the good cause of society.

 This is to be Japan’s first e-club of this kind.

 The club’s primary language of operation is to be English. Weekly meetings are also to take place in English.

 The e-club is now recruiting members who understand Rotary’s aims and who can engage in activities with others who share similar ideas across generations.

Policies on Prospective Members

1.    Members are welcome regardless of gender

2.    Members are welcome regardless of nationality

3.    Members are welcome regardless of age

4.    Active members with a spirit of serving society are welcome

5.    Members able to display leadership are welcome

 Requirements for E-Club Membership

1.    Members must come from any country or geographical area where Rotary maintains a presence.

2.    Members must read materials posted for weekly discussion.

 *    For further information, please read the section of “Weekly Meetings of the Rotary E-Club Peace Wing ” below.

*    Members not only contribute thoughts and opinions on message boards, email and instant messaging, but also use videoconferencing and weekly meetings to proactively exchange ideas.

*    According to club regulations, membership dues are not returned even if a member leaves the club in the middle of his/her membership period.

 Who Is Eligible for Membership

1.    International Christian University Rotary Peace Fellows

2.    Rotary Peace Fellows sent overseas from Japan

3.    Individuals involved with regional Rotary Peace Fellowship Committees

4.    Members of “Rotary Families” who have been recommended by a Rotarian in their area (including  members of Rotaract, Ryla, and Rotex, and Rotary Foundation fellows)

5.    Professionals interested in service activities in their fields who are recommended by someone connected to Rotary

 *    Potential members must be recommended by two Rotarians, one of whom the applicant must have known for at least 2 years.
