2026年8月27日会長の時間

２週続きのクラブ協議会では、多くの皆様からの３-Year Rolling Goalsについての貴重なご意見を頂き、ロータリークラブの存在意義と活動の芯となる心持ちを生部ことが出来まして、嬉しい思いでした。年に一度のクラブ協議会ですので、全員のクラブメンバーの方々からご投稿いただけたらさらに嬉しかったです。次回の理事会全員協議会では、全委員会が協議してまとめて下さった今年度の方針についての審議が行われて、いよいよ本格的な活動が始まります。奉仕活動に参加すると、奉仕を受けて下さった方々に喜んで頂くと奉仕した者が嬉しく感動することを、今までの奉仕活動で実感いたしました。人間は皆で生きているのだと心が熱くなります。私は、ジャズピアノを弾いてライブを続けてきましたが、まず自分がうまく演奏できると嬉しい、そしてお客様が聴いて喜んでくださると嬉しさは完璧になります。そのために自分を磨きます。幾つになっても何年続けていても新しいことにぶつかりチャレンジして自分のものにします。日々新しく飽きることがありません。お客様との出会いがワクワクする喜びです。音楽は、演奏する方も聴く方も嬉しい、ピアノは一人でも演奏できますが、バンドで演奏すると音楽の成り立ちの分業が楽しくて大きな世界を作れます。奉仕活動と同じだなと感じます。

皆様、今年度の奉仕事業がまた先につながる充実したものになりますよう、お力をください。どうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

At the club conference, which spanned two weeks, I was delighted to receive valuable feedback from so many of you regarding our 3-Year Rolling Goals, which helped us reaffirm the purpose of our Rotary Club and the core spirit that drives our activities. Since this is an annual event, I would have been even happier if every club member had submitted their input. At the next full board meeting, we will deliberate on this year’s policies—which were compiled through discussions among all committees—and our activities will finally get underway in earnest. Through my service activities to date, I have come to realize that when we participate in service, seeing the joy on the faces of those we serve brings happiness and deep emotion to the volunteers as well. It warms my heart to realize that we all live together as one. I have been performing live jazz piano for many years; first, I am happy when I play well, and that joy is made complete when the audience enjoys listening. That is why I continue to hone my skills. No matter how old I get or how many years I’ve been doing this, I keep encountering new things, taking on challenges, and making them my own. Every day brings something new, and I never grow tired of it. Meeting new audiences is a source of thrilling joy. Music brings joy to both the performer and the listener. While I can play the piano alone, performing with a band allows me to enjoy the division of labor that makes music come together, creating a vast, rich world. I feel this is just like our volunteer work.
